In December 2019 we became the lucky owners of Penny. A big bouncing baby bouvier from Madeleines Bouviers. A great experience buying a puppy from a lover of the breed. With regular updates and beautifull pictures to make the waiting easier. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We can recommend Madeleine wholeheartedly. When we lost our elderly Bouv to cancer last year, we started looking for a puppy, however at the time there were no puppies available in the Eastern Cape where we live.

A friend in the “breeding world” did some research for us and strongly recommended Madeleine. Right from the word go we were impressed by Madeleine and how she operated. She put us in contact with other “parents” of previous litters to act as reference, all the admin and arrangements for flying the puppy from Oliver Tambo to Port Elizabeth were dealt with efficiently and we received regular updates on our “baby’s” progress during the weeks we waited for her.

The proof is in the pudding so to speak.... we are incredibly happy with our 5-month-old Ntombi. She is healthy, confident, and has a lovely temperament. We could not have wished for more. So yes, we would gladly recommend Madeleine!

Madelein het van die eerste e-pos uit haar pad te gaan om al my vrae te beantwoord rakende die temperament en karakter eienskappe van die Bouvier des Flandres hondjies.

Die afstand was aanvanklik 'n groot bekommernis vir my.

Skye het hoogs tevrede sonder enige merkbare senuweeagtigheid of angstigheid by ons aangekom.

Ek sal haar ten sterkste aanbeveel.

Words cannot describe enough how we appreciate Madeleine and everything she has done for us…! There are no words that can express our appreciation... Charcoal, our precious Bouvier male, is so part of our family and we cannot image life without him.

He was at the time a gift for our daughter for her birthday; … Just try to imagine trying to coordinate logistics and exact timing to ensure this little precious puppy arrives at just the right time before her birthday – actually quite a nightmare to even consider it all falling into place… And even more so with us based in Cape Town!

However, we could not have asked for someone more suited to help us to make this dream a reality. Madeleine who is now based in Pretoria, totally went above and beyond. We could not view our precious puppy and had to rely purely on Madeleine’s word (which I can absolutely vouch for and can tell you outright is worth more than gold)...Madeleine helped us to choose the right puppy, sent us daily videos and photos… Madeleine also did all the necessary, i.e. injections, etc. and ensured our puppy is healthy and ready for his trip to Cape Town.

She truly cares and sees each one of her puppies as family – Madeleine drove Charcoal personally to Lanseria Airport in the early hours of the morning, sat with him for hours and waited until he boarded his plane. When he arrived in Cape Town, Charcoal had a blue blanket with him (a gift from Madeleine!) and it is until today one of his most favourites items (much wear & tear later though) …

We are still to this day in contact with Madeleine, 1-year later – normally when she enquires about Charcoal or if we have taken too long to send her a more recent photo.

We can with absolutely certainty guarantee and recommend Madeleine’s services - You will not be disappointed!

We have had several dogs (small / big breeds) in our family over the years and went into a unfamiliar territory with a pure bred bouvier des flandres. Our son of 11 always wanted a large hairy teddy bear breed that can share his bedroom with him and to watch Tv without getting disturb. When searching for his dream dog that match his personality we came across Madeleine Janse Van Vuuren. She does not over bred her children and not placing them the entire day in kennels for breeding purposes. She stays on a big plot whereby her children lives like queens and kings and get all the loving and tender love from her. She is very strict when it comes to home approvals, as this breed is not met for anyone, only suitable family will get her babies. When we saw Bella for the 1st time she stole our hearts! Her loyalty and unconditional love makes her the ideal family member. She is a great companion and a new best friend, not only for my son but for all of us.

She loves to travel and has accompanied us to various places whereby people cannot stop talking about her healthy coat and teeth and personality. In addition, she was easily trained to act accordingly so that she can be taken to family visits. Bella is not the type of breed, that you can just play fetch to, she is a breed that will 1st observe and then decide if she would like to play along. She is not a big fan of cats but do get along with other dogs. They are very clever and behave like a new youngster in your home, she does not want to be treated like a dog but rather a human. Bouviers got lots of energy and if you do not have the patience for energetic dogs then they are not suitable for you.

What you should know before adopting one of these fur’s; Despite the huge size, the Bouvier des Flandres is a calm and docile dog known for having a pleasant nature, and is a great family pet. The Bouvier can get along well with other animals if raised with them; if not, some can be aggressive toward other dogs. Bouviers are large barking dogs. They don't shed because they need to be clipped, so they are very clean. If you keep your dog's coat cut short it is very manageable Bouviers need to be socialized and obedience trained, but like most shepherds, they learn easily, do great with kids, get along with other dogs and horses, and make good guard dogs. They are very smart The Bouvier Des Flandres are intelligent and learn quickly. However, they do have a mind of their own and need an even smarter, patient human to train them. They are happiest when they have a job to do – whether that means herding, obedience, “babysitting”, guarding, or even rescue work.

I am also considering another fur butt to match Bella’s size.

Thank you Madeleine for selecting us to be Bella’s long term family members!!! I hope the above will let more people understand the breed and treat them like their own human babies.

"Max" short for Maximus Greeck name meaning "the greatest". Max has a absolutely loving personality and enjoys playing tug and dodge with my son. We also have 4 other dogs ranging from small breed to Rottweiler and Max gets along perfectly with them all. He does not shed, he is house trained and very obedient. Our family is so blessed with him as part of it. He is just over a year now and is a very large and happy Bouv we all love to bits. Thanks to Madelein for your well bread Bouviers.
